Essential Skills Workshops 2012: |

The "Essential Skills Workshop" (ESW) is the basic course required of all prospective Volunteer Ambulance Officers. Successful completion of the ESW is a requirement to be appointed as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer with Ambulance Tasmania. Starting in 2012, Essential Skills Workshops will run over three weekends and will cover all the basics to become a Level 1 Volunteer Ambulance Officer. The expectation is new volunteers will be able to complete their Skills Logbook by the end of the third weekend or shortly thereafter and be in a position to provide first response care at scenes and provide more advanced patient care under supervision as an effective member of an ambulance crew. Applicants enrolled in the three weekend ESW will be able to transfer to the next group if they miss a session in the course they are enrolled in, and will be able (space permitting) to attend sessions in regions other than the one they live in. Dates are subject to change and Ambulance Tasmania may cancel or combine courses depending on enrollments. Locations TBA and will be confirmed with course participants on enrollment. |

The following are links to Volunteer Ambulance Officer training schedules for various stations around the state. In most cases, volunteers are welcome to attend training session at neighbouring stations, but check first with the volunteer co-ordinator or BSO to make sure this is ok and that the date, time or topic hasn't changed. If sessions are incorrect or have been cancelled, please ask your Volunteer Coordinator or BSO to update the Training Schedule in vGate or contact the Volunteer Educator in your region. |
