National Volunteer Week May  16 2012 It’s National Volunteer Week this week and for anyone who missed the ‘thank you’ advertisements placed in the three regional newspapers this week, a copy is attached below. National Volunteer Week is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia, and provides an opportunity to acknowledge and thank Ambulance Tasmania’s 525 Volunteer Ambulance Officers for the support they give to the community. We simply could not provide the level of ambulance coverage that we do without them. We should also acknowledge that outside of attending cases volunteers also contribute their time attending training and maintaining vehicles and equipment. Lastly, we should also remember that many of our VAOs would not be able to give us their time without the support and encouragement of their families, employers and workmates.
